3. Local Hosting Committee Report: Don Allan expressed gratitude to the volunteers on the Committee and sponsors and contributors, and to the Victoria Curling Club
a. Recognition of the Victoria Hosting Committee – David Martin expressed appreciation to Don Allan and Committee, followed by a standing ovation
4. Report from the Board:
a. Thanks to Local Hosting Committee – Moved and seconded that we thank Herb Sharpe for his work as Treasurer and Registrar. Carried.
b. Board Request for Discussion:
– David Martin reported on the discussion of the Board that we recommend that each team must have as a minimum one clergy or employee of a faith-based organization on their team, preferably but not necessarily as skip.
Don Sjoberg moved and David Hunter seconded that we suspend the constitutional recommendation re eligibility for next year, until the Constitution can be changed. Carried.
5. Treasurers Report: David Martin for Harold Hesje – there is about $1800 in the account.

10. The Amazing Grace Award – presented by Pam Bartel to Rod Fair from Victoria
11. Honorary Amazing Grace Award to the Victoria Curling Club for covering $50 of John Torrance’s expenses on having the rental car towed for a parking violation on the street in front of the Club.
12. Memorial Tribute:
Alan Grundahl announced the death by cancer of Dan Skaret, who often represented Saskatchewan clergy clubs at the Friars Briar and served as Treasurer on the Board. He was a layperson and faithful church worker, as the Treasurer of the National Evangelical Lutheran Church and worked for the church in Zambia and Zimbabwe. He is greatly missed by his wife and many friends.
13. 2018 Friars’ Briar Announcement & 40th Anniversary Celebration – the Saskatoon Clergy Curling Club has invited us to Regina for the 2018 Friars Briar.
